What is "GenieJourney" and how do I use it?

There are two ways to create a trip in our Trip Planner: GenieJourney and Custom Trip.  

GenieJourney is our fully AI-powered tool that allows you to create a trip route using simple search terms and have our AI do the research and planning for you.  Custom Trip allows you to create a trip by entering destinations you know you want on your trip and allows you to fully control your trip.

For example, let's say you want to take a trip to the seven best roller coasters within 500 miles from your home in Chicago.  You would enter, "Take me to the 5 best roller coasters within 500 miles of Chicago."  Our you could enter "I want to take a 7-day trip to the best mountain  lakes in North Carolina."  Or you could say "I want to see the best historic cities in Washington, DC and Virginia." The results of your search will appear on the map and stops list. You can then edit the stops and route from there.  Using Custom Trip you would enter need to know your destinations and enter those cities to create your trip. 

What is the most compelling about GenieJourney is that it can do the research for you. For example, you could say, "I want to take a 14-day trip to the top wine regions in northern California."  Or "I want to take a one-week trip to the best fall foliage areas in New England."  Or "I want to take a 3-week trip to the National Parks of the Southwest starting in Charlotte, NC."  Our AI will search the internet for all the reliable articles and information on this subject, recommend stops at the top spots related to your search terms, and create a trip route for you. You can then add or delete other stops from the resulting trip route. In a nutshell, GenieJourney allows you to enter a brief description of your desired trip, have our AI research the best options for your trip, and create a great trip route for you.  It saves you a lot of time researching and planning.

• "I want take a 7-day trip from Memphis with stops at Civil War historical sites."
• "I want to take a 2-week trip along the northern Gulf Coast."
• "Show me a long weekend trip from Boston to the best fall foliage destinations."
• "Take me on a tour of Montana with the best fishing spots."
• "A 10-day trip starting in Los Angeles along the coast highway."
• "Take me to the 5 best public golf courses in Texas."
• "Route 66 trip from Chicago to Oklahoma stopping at best historic sites."
• "Two week trip of the most historic baseball stadiums in the eastern US."

The list is endless of what you can ask GenieJourney.  If the result isn't exactly what you want, tweak your search term until you get something you like. From there you can edit the trip in our Trip Planner to make it your own.

GenieJourney is still in Beta (experimental) mode as we refine the AI to best help you plan trips. While you may occasionally get odd or undesired results, it works incredibly well most of the time, especially as you get better at creating search requests. Try it out!!!
